“Lamia Matera 11 Holiday Home” is located on an excellent position in Sassi districts at 500 metres away from the central square with a suggestive view overlooking the deep gorge of Gravina torrent.
The original old house, called “lamione” or “lamia” because of its characteristic barrel vault, has recently been renovated according to the contemporary design guidelines to create refined and surprising and relaxing ambience.
“Lamia Matera 11 Holiday Home” is situated on three different levels and its bedrooms are in the innermost part of the house.
On the ground floor a large living room with a kitchen is decorated by a gilt staircase winding around the two-burner fireplace. A bedroom with an elegant bathroom is on this level overlooking the rocks of Murgia Plateau.
Entirely carved out of the rock, a cozy and spacious room is located on the floor below with stunning views.
The third double bedroom, provided with a bathroom too, is on the upper level under the original limestone vault.
The work with glass windows and doors offers you enchanting views of the surrounding landscape and a feeling of immersion in nature, while being in the heart of the old Sassi districts.
It is possible to go comfortably on foot from the Holiday Home to the most beautiful sights of the ancient city.
